Overview
You can share Component Templates and Asset Templates directly between devices using AirDrop. From a template's detail screen, tap the share button to send the full template — including all task templates, component types, products, and attachments — to a nearby iPhone or iPad running Redlist. The receiving device automatically imports the template data into its local Redlist database. This makes it easy to copy templates across devices or share your standard configurations with team members in the field.

How to Receive a Template via AirDrop
When another device sends you a Redlist template via AirDrop, you do not need to do anything in the app ahead of time.
An AirDrop notification appears on your device with a Redlist template data preview
Tap Accept
Redlist opens automatically and imports the template data
An AirDrop Import Complete alert confirms the import was successful
The imported template is now available in your Component Templates or Asset Templates list
Note: Both devices must have Redlist installed. AirDrop requires Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to be enabled on both devices, and they must be within range of each other (generally within 30 feet).
Understanding What Happens After Import
Component Templates are immediately available in your Component Templates list and can be applied to components on your assets
Asset Templates are immediately available in your Asset Templates list and can be applied when setting up new assets or PM programs
Best Practices
Share One Template at a Time: Each share action sends one template — repeat the process for each template you want to transfer.
Keep AirDrop Set to Contacts Only or Everyone: If the AirDrop notification does not appear on the receiving device, check that the recipient's AirDrop visibility is set to Contacts Only or Everyone in their iPhone Settings or Control Center.
Troubleshooting

Solution: Make sure you have tapped into a specific template's detail screen — the share button is not available on the list screen.

Try locking and unlocking the receiving device, then try sending again
Issue: The AirDrop Import Failed alert appears after accepting
Solution: Confirm Redlist is installed and signed in on the receiving device, then try sending again.
Confirm the receiving device has Redlist installed and is signed in to an account
Try sending the template again — occasional file transfer issues can cause a one-time failure
Contact your administrator if the error persists, noting the error message shown in the alert
Issue: The imported template is missing some task templates or products
Solution: Verify the template is complete on the sending device before resharing — the import may have been interrupted.
Open the template detail screen on the sending device and verify all task templates are visible before resharing
Reshare the template — the import may have been interrupted
Manually add any missing task templates to the imported template on the receiving device
Summary
AirDrop sharing lets you transfer Component Templates and Asset Templates between Redlist devices quickly and wirelessly. Open the template detail screen, tap the share button, select a nearby device, and the recipient's Redlist automatically imports the full template — including task templates, products, and attachments — with no manual data entry required.
