Overview

The Digital Twin Task View lets you navigate and complete work order tasks directly inside a 3D digital twin of your facility. A sidebar on the left displays your assets and tasks in a group hierarchy, while the 3D digital twin on the right shows color-coded tags for each task location — so you can see exactly where work needs to happen and complete tasks without leaving the 3D view.

Accessing the Digital Twin Task View

The Digital Twin view is only available when the digital twin integration is enabled for your organization. Contact your administrator if the option is not visible.

Tablets & iPads only. The sidebar in this guide is not available on phones. Phone users will see a full-screen 3D model with task cards at the bottom instead.

  1. Tap the Routes tab

  2. Open a work order

  3. Tap the Tasks tab

  4. Tap the view selector button (three-slider icon) in the top right

  5. Select Digital Twin View from the menu

Working with the Sidebar

How to Open and Close the Sidebar

The sidebar gives you a full hierarchical view of your assets and tasks alongside the 3D digital twin.

  1. Make sure you're in Routes tab and in the Digital Twin view, tap the sidebar icon in the top left corner

  2. The left sidebar opens, showing your asset groups and assets

  3. The task cards at the bottom are hidden while the sidebar is open to maximize the 3D view

  4. Tap the sidebar icon again to close the sidebar and bring back the task cards at the bottom

How to Navigate Tasks in the Sidebar

The sidebar organizes tasks by asset group and asset, showing completion progress for each.

  1. Make sure you're in Routes tab and in the Digital Twin view, open the sidebar using the sidebar icon

  2. Tap an asset group (folder icon) to expand it and see the assets inside

  3. Tap an asset to see its associated tasks and a progress bar showing how many are complete

  4. Tap a task to select it — the 3D digital twin will navigate to that task's location

The sidebar and 3D digital twin are linked in both directions. Tapping a tag in the digital twin highlights the corresponding task in the sidebar, and tapping a task in the sidebar navigates the digital twin to that location.

Completing Tasks

How to Complete a Single Task from the Sidebar

  1. Open the sidebar and find the task you want to complete

  2. Tap the task to open its task card

  3. Tap Complete on the task card

How to Bulk Complete Multiple Tasks

  1. Open the sidebar and tap the checkboxes next to the tasks you want to complete

  2. The Tasks Selected overlay appears at the bottom showing how many tasks are selected

  3. Tap Complete to complete all selected tasks at once, or tap Status to move them to a different status

Understanding Task Tag Colors

Tags pinned to locations in the 3D digital twin are color-coded to show task status at a glance:

Color

Meaning

Green

Task is complete

Yellow

Task is due today

Gray

Task is upcoming (not yet due)

Red

Task is overdue

Understanding the Image / Tasks Toggle

At the top of the sidebar, there is a segmented control with two options:

  • Image — Shows a visual representation or thumbnail associated with the asset

  • Tasks — Shows the task list and progress for the asset

Tap between these two options to switch what the sidebar displays for the selected asset.

Best Practices

Use the Sidebar for Complex Work Orders: The group asset sidebar is especially useful on large work orders with many assets — you can track completion progress across all assets without scrolling through a flat list.

Use Bulk Complete for Routine Inspections: When multiple tasks in the same area are done at once, select them all in the sidebar and use the Complete button in the Tasks Selected overlay to save time.

Use Tag Colors as a Quick Progress Check: Before opening the sidebar, scan the 3D digital twin for red and yellow tags to immediately identify overdue or due-today tasks without navigating the list.

Close the Sidebar for a Fuller View: If you need a better look at the digital twin, close the sidebar — the task cards at the bottom still let you scroll through and complete tasks.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Digital Twin View Not Available in the View Selector Menu

Solution:

  1. Confirm that the digital twin integration is enabled for your organization

  2. Contact your administrator if the digital twin integration should be enabled but the option is missing

Issue: Digital Twin Does Not Navigate to a Task Location When Tapping in the Sidebar

Solution:

  1. Confirm the task has a tag pinned to a location in the digital twin — not all tasks may have a tag assigned

  2. Check your network connection, as the digital twin requires an active connection to load and navigate

Summary

The Digital Twin Task View combines a live 3D digital twin of your facility with a group asset sidebar, giving you a spatial and hierarchical view of all tasks in a work order at the same time. Use the sidebar to track progress by asset group, complete tasks individually or in bulk, and rely on the color-coded tags in the digital twin to instantly see where attention is needed.
