Best Practices
1. Assign Tasks During Template Setup: Establish clear ownership when creating or updating the asset template library to avoid confusion later
2. Use Consistent Assignment Logic: Consider assigning tasks based on skill sets, departments, or geographic locations for better organization
3. Regular Reviews: Periodically review task assignments to ensure they reflect current team structure and responsibilities
4. Clear Accountability: Ensure each task has an assigned owner to improve maintenance completion rates
5. Document Changes: Keep track of why assignments change, especially for critical maintenance tasks
Troubleshooting
Issue: I don't see the Assignee column in my task table
Solution: Ensure you are viewing the Asset Template Library sub-tab (not the Asset Templates sub-tab) under Route Setup/Templates > Asset Templates. The Assignee column is only available on the Asset Template Library view. The Assignee column may require scrolling right if your screen width is limited.
Issue: Changes to assignees are not saving
Solution: Refresh the page and try again. If the issue persists, check your internet connection and contact Redlist support.
Issue: I assigned someone to a task but they can't see it
Solution: Task assignments in the Asset Tem Library establish ownership for template-based tasks. Ensure your routes and programs are configured to be generated at that time.
Summary
The Asset Template Library Task Assignment feature allows you to assign specific team members to tasks inline, providing clear ownership and accountability. By using the Assignee column in the task table, you can quickly see who is responsible for each maintenance activity and make changes as needed. This feature helps improve task completion rates and makes it easier to audit task assignments across your maintenance operations.
