What is it?

This feature enables users to annotate (edit or markup) images directly within form questions, both on mobile and web platforms. Each time a photo is edited and saved, it is stored as a new attachment—preserving the original for historical accuracy. Edits can include drawing, adding symbols, and highlighting problem areas.

How to setup a form with the ability to make inline photo markups

  1. Go to "Forms", then to "Form Templates", and select or create a form:

  2. Add an "Image/Video" form question

  3. Toggle on "Allow Inline Editing"

  4. Click "Yes" to allow video or photo attachments

  5. Upload a photo or video, and fill in the "Helper Text",

  6. Click on "Save and Publish" to apply changes

How to use the inline photo markup on mobile

  1. Access the Form

2. Tap the image to preview and access the editing options:

3. Edit or markup as needed, then save.

The file can also be shared through different platforms:

4. Saved edited images appear in the attachment section of the form record.

Viewing forms that have inline markup

Take note that only submitted forms can be viewed into a PDF following these steps:

  1. Go to "Forms", then "View Entries"

  2. Select the form template and view the PDF file by clicking the icon

  3. You can also have the option to share the form in PDF

Benefits/Tips:

  • Markup does not overwrite originals—history is preserved.

  • Multiple edits/versions can be saved for thorough documentation.

  • Improves clarity and actionability in maintenance or inspection records.

Improved Image Editing for Parts

Parts (and other single-image items) now have modern editing tools: mark up, share, crop, rotate, and delete—directly in the gallery-style photo view.

How to Use:

  1. View any single-image part.

  2. Use the new gallery controls to edit, annotate, or manage images.
