Mobile — Filter on Start Date

How to filter work orders by start date on mobile, including preset ranges, custom dates, and toggle options.

Written by Trevor Shaffer

Overview

Work orders can now be filtered by start date on mobile. The start date filter is available in both the quick filter bar and the main filter sheet, letting you quickly see what is starting today, this week, or within a custom date range.

How to Use the Start Date Filter

Quick Filter Bar

  1. Open the Work Order list.

  2. In the quick filter bar, tap Start Date.

  3. Select a date range option from the list,

or choose Custom to pick a specific start and end date.

  4. The list updates immediately to show matching work orders.

Main Filter Sheet

  1. Open the Work Order list.

  2. Tap the filter icon to open the full filter sheet.

  3. Scroll to the Start Date section.

  4. Select a date range option

or choose Custom to enter a date range.

  5. Click Done to apply the filter.

The start date filter offers the same options as the due date filter:

Filter Toggles

When using the start date filter, two additional toggles control which work orders are included:

Toggle

Default

What it does

Include Past Start Dates

On

Includes work orders whose start date has already passed

Include No Start Date

On

Includes work orders that have no start date set

Both toggles are on by default. With both toggles on and no date range selected, the filter shows all work orders. Turn a toggle off to narrow results — for example, turn off Include No Start Date to see only work orders that have a start date assigned.

Important Notes

  • Start date is not required — work orders do not need a start date. Use the Include No Start Date toggle to control whether these appear in filtered results.

  • Filter does not persist — the start date filter resets each time you reopen the app. Set it again each session as needed.

Use Cases

See what starts today — Select Today from the quick filter bar to view all work orders scheduled to start today. Turn off Include Past Start Dates to exclude overdue ones.

Plan the week ahead — Select Current Week to see everything starting this week and prioritize accordingly.

Custom date range — Select Custom to view work orders starting between any two dates, useful for planning a specific project window.

Troubleshooting

Issue: The filter is not narrowing results as expected.

Solution:

  1. Check whether Include Past Start Dates and Include No Start Date are both on. With both enabled and no range selected, all work orders are shown. Select a date range option to apply the filter.

  2. Confirm the work orders you expect to see have a start date assigned — work orders without a start date are only shown when Include No Start Date is on.

Issue: My filter settings disappeared after closing the app.

Solution: The start date filter does not persist between sessions. This is by design — re-apply the filter each time you open the app.

Summary

The start date filter on mobile lets you view work orders by when they are scheduled to begin. Use the quick filter bar for fast access or the main filter sheet for more control. Select from preset ranges (Today, Current Week, 14–365 Days) or use Custom to set your own dates. Two toggles — Include Past Start Dates and Include No Start Date — are on by default and can be turned off to refine results further. The filter resets each session.
