Overview

With Comms Hub, you can post updates and questions directly in the app. Use the tagging feature to mention teammates, roles, assets, work orders, and more — ensuring the right people see your message and can navigate directly to the tagged item.

Accessing Comms Hub

Option A — Via the bottom tab bar

  1. Tap the Comms Hub tab (speech bubble icon) in the bottom navigation bar

Option B — Via the sidebar menu

  1. Tap the hamburger menu button (three-line icon) in the top left corner of the screen

  2. Tap Communication Hub

Creating and Tagging Posts

How to Create a New Post

  1. Open Comms Hub

  2. Tap New Post

  3. Type your message in the text field

  4. Add tags as needed (see sections below)

  5. Tap Post

Note: If you tap Post without mentioning any users, a prompt will appear asking "Want Faster Follow-up?" You can tap Mention or Tag to add a tag, or tap Post Anyway to post without one.

How to Tag Using the Keyboard

You can add mentions and tags directly while typing your message using keyboard shortcuts.

To mention a user or role:

  1. Type @ in the message field followed by the person's name or role name

  2. A suggestion list appears — tap the user or role you want to mention

  3. The mention is inserted into your message highlighted in the accent color

To tag an asset, work order, or job:

  1. Type # in the message field

  2. A menu appears — tap Asset or Work Order

  3. Search for and select the item you want to tag

    1. Asset

    2. Work Order

  4. The tag is inserted into your message highlighted in the accent color

How to Tag Using the Mention or Tag Button

The Mention or Tag button lets you add tags without typing keyboard shortcuts. Tags added this way appear as chips in the tag row below your message rather than inline in the text.

  1. On the compose screen, tap Mention or Tag

  2. Search for and select the user, role, asset, work order, or job you want to tag

  3. The tag appears as a chip in the tag row below your message

  4. Repeat to add more tags

  5. Tap Post when ready

Note: Tags added via the Mention or Tag button appear in the tag row below your message, not inside the message text. Both methods are valid — use whichever is easier for the situation.

How Tags Appear on a Posted Message

After a post is submitted, any tags appear as tappable buttons on the post. Tapping a tag navigates directly to that item — for example, tapping an asset tag opens the asset details screen.

Best Practices

Tag the Right Person, Not Just a Role: If a specific person needs to act on your post, mention them directly so they get a notification, rather than just tagging a role.

Use # to Link Context: Tagging the relevant asset or work order on a post gives teammates one tap to see the full details, rather than having to search for it separately.

Use the Mention or Tag Button for Multiple Tags: If you need to tag several items at once, the Mention or Tag button makes it easy to add them all without managing keyboard shortcuts mid-sentence.

Don't Skip the Tagging Prompt: If the "Want Faster Follow-up?" prompt appears, take a moment to tag the relevant user or asset — it increases the chance your post is seen and acted on quickly.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Autocomplete Suggestion List Does Not Appear After Typing @ or #

Solution:

  1. Make sure you are typing in the message text field, not another field on the screen

  2. Type at least one character after @ or # to trigger suggestions

  3. If the list still does not appear, close and reopen the compose screen and try again

Issue: A Tag Added via the Mention or Tag Button Is Not Visible

Solution:

  1. Tags added via the button appear in the tag row below the text field, not inside the message — scroll the tag row horizontally if you have multiple tags

  2. If the tag row is not visible, confirm you selected an item in the Mention or Tag screen before returning to the compose screen

Issue: The Post Button Is Not Responding

Solution:

  1. Make sure the message text field is not empty — a message is required to post

  2. If the button appears grayed out, add text to the message field and try again

Summary

Comms Hub tagging lets you connect your posts directly to the people and work items that matter. Use @ to mention users and roles, # to tag assets, work orders, and jobs, or tap the Mention or Tag button to add tags without using keyboard shortcuts. Tags on published posts are tappable, giving your team quick access to the relevant details.
