Overview
The System Time Zone field in Company Details sets the time zone Redlist uses for the company account as a whole. It includes options for any region in the world, and each one is labeled with its current UTC offset, so you can find and confirm the correct zone for wherever the company operates. This setting also determines when scheduled Server Maintenance runs, since the Server Maintenance start time is interpreted using whichever zone is selected here.
Accessing System Time Zone Settings
From the navigation, click Settings, then click Company
The Information tab is shown by default
Click Edit to open the Edit Company Info modal
Scroll down to the System Settings section
Note: The System Time Zone applies to the whole company account — it isn't a per-user setting.
How to Change the Company's System Time Zone
Open the Edit Company Info modal (see Accessing above)
In the System Settings section, click the System Time Zone dropdown
Type to search — for example, "Australia," "Tokyo," or "Kathmandu" — the list filters as you type
Select the correct zone; each option is shown with its current UTC offset, e.g. (UTC+10:00) AUS Eastern Standard Time (Melbourne, Sydney)
Click Save
Note: System Time Zone is a required field — the modal can't be saved with it empty.
Understanding the Time Zone List
Options are sorted by UTC offset, from UTC-12 up through UTC+14
Every option displays its current UTC offset in front of the zone name, e.g. (UTC-07:00) Mountain Time (US & Canada)
Where several regional names share the same underlying time zone (for example, Denver, Boise, and Edmonton all observe Mountain Time), Redlist shows one combined entry instead of listing each city separately, so the dropdown doesn't fill up with duplicate-looking options
Why System Time Zone Matters
The Server Maintenance field sits right next to System Time Zone in the same section, and its start time is interpreted using whichever zone is selected there. If the company's System Time Zone doesn't match its actual region, scheduled maintenance can run during active business hours instead of off-hours — this is exactly the gap that prompted this update, after international accounts based outside North America (e.g. Australia, Japan) had no zone available that matched their location.
Use Cases
Onboarding an international account
While setting up a new customer based in Victoria, Australia, an admin opens Company Details and searches the System Time Zone dropdown for "Australia," selecting the AEST/AEDT option so the account's maintenance window is scheduled correctly from day one.
Correcting an existing account's time zone
An admin notices a customer's server maintenance has been running during their staff's shift. They open Edit Company Info, change System Time Zone to the customer's actual region, and confirm the Server Maintenance start time now reflects the correct local hour.
Distinguishing similarly named zones
An admin configuring a US-based account needs Arizona specifically (which doesn't observe daylight saving) rather than the broader Mountain Time zone. Searching the dropdown surfaces both as distinct, UTC-offset-labeled options, so they don't have to guess which one applies.
Best Practices
Match the customer's actual region, not an approximation: Search for the customer's city or country rather than picking the nearest well-known zone — the full list now supports exact matches.
Recheck Server Maintenance after changing the zone: The maintenance start time is interpreted in the newly selected zone, so confirm it still reflects an appropriate off-hours window.
Use the UTC offset to disambiguate: When a region has more than one plausible option (e.g. zones that do or don't observe daylight saving), compare the (UTC±HH:MM) prefix to confirm you've picked the right one.
Troubleshooting
Issue: Can't find an exact city or region in the list
Solution:
Search by a nearby major city or country name instead — many smaller locations share a time zone with a larger one and are represented by a single combined entry
Compare the UTC offset shown on each option against the customer's known offset if the name alone doesn't confirm a match
Issue: Edit Company Info won't save
Solution:
Confirm a System Time Zone is selected — it's a required field and the modal blocks saving without it
Issue: Server maintenance seems to run at the wrong local time
Solution:
Open Edit Company Info and check the System Time Zone value — Server Maintenance start time is always interpreted using this zone
Update System Time Zone to match the account's actual region, then re-verify the Server Maintenance start time
Summary
The System Time Zone dropdown in Company Details covers time zones worldwide, with each option labeled by its UTC offset and duplicate regional names consolidated into a single entry. Setting the correct zone for an account ensures the paired Server Maintenance window runs at the intended local time.
