Overview
After chatting with Redd, Redlist's AI assistant, about an asset issue, you can turn that conversation into a Comms Hub post with a single tap. Redd automatically generates a concise summary of the chat — formatted for a team communication feed — and opens a pre-filled post editor where you can review, edit, and tag teammates before publishing. This makes it easy to share field findings with your team without retyping what you already discussed with Redd.
Accessing the AI Chat
The AI chat is accessed from an individual asset's detail screen.
Tap the Assets tab in the bottom navigation bar
Find and tap the asset you want to discuss
On the asset detail screen, tap the red sparkles button in the top right corner to open the Ask Redd chat screen
How to Generate a Comms Hub Post From the Chat
Once your conversation with Redd contains enough context about an issue or finding, you can generate a post in one step.
From the Ask Redd chat screen, tap the + button on the bottom left of the screen
Tap Create Comms Hub Post
Redd processes the conversation and displays a “Generating Post...” indicator
When complete, a New Post screen opens with the AI-generated summary already filled in
Review and edit the post text as needed
Add tags using @ to mention users or roles, or # to tag assets, work orders, or jobs (see the Comms Hub Tagging guide for full tagging instructions)
Tap the Post button (paper plane icon) in the top right to publish
Note: Any photos shared during the AI chat are automatically included as attachments on the new post. Review attached photos before posting if you want to remove any.
Understanding the AI-Generated Post
Length is capped at 512 characters — Redd summarizes the conversation into a concise update suitable for a team communication feed
Formatted for readability — the generated text is plain prose, written to read naturally in a social-style post
Editable before posting — the post screen opens with the generated text pre-filled, but you can change any part of it before tapping Post
Chat photos are included — images shared with Redd during the conversation are attached to the post automatically
How This Differs From Create Work Order From Chat
Both options are available in the + menu in the Ask Redd chat. Here is how they differ:
| Create Comms Hub Post | Create Work Order From Chat |
Output | A Comms Hub post | A work order |
Content | Short summary (max 512 characters) | Work order title and conversation notes |
Next step | Review and publish the post | Select a board and tap Add |
Best used when | Sharing a finding or update with the team | Logging an issue that needs follow-up work |
Best Practices
Chat First, Then Post: Give Redd enough conversation context before generating the post — the more detail in the chat, the more useful the generated summary will be.
Tag the Right People: After the post is generated, use @ to mention the teammates who need to see the update — this sends them a notification so it doesn't get missed.
Tag the Asset: Use # to tag the asset discussed in the chat so your team can navigate directly to it from the post.
Edit Before Posting: Review the generated text for accuracy before publishing — AI summaries may occasionally include details that need correction or clarification.
Troubleshooting
Issue: The Create Comms Hub Post option is not visible in the + menu
Solution: You need at least one message exchange with Redd before the option appears, and the Comms Hub feature must be enabled for your organization.
Ensure you have at least one message exchange with Redd in the current chat session
Close and reopen the Ask Redd chat and try again
Confirm that the Comms Hub feature is enabled for your organization — contact your administrator if it should be available but is not
Issue: The post screen opens but the text is empty
Solution: The chat session may not have contained enough content for Redd to summarize.
Confirm the chat session contained a full message exchange before tapping the menu option
Try sending another message in the chat and generating the post again
Issue: The generated summary is inaccurate or missing key details
Solution: Edit the pre-filled text directly in the post editor, and provide more specific detail in future chats.
Edit the pre-filled text directly in the post editor before publishing
For future chats, provide more specific details when describing the issue to Redd so the summary captures the right context
